When you listen
Our streaming server records your IP address, the app or browser you listen with, and when and for how long you listen. We use this to run the stream, count listeners, and produce the usage reports music licensing bodies require.
When you visit the website
Like any website, our servers and our network provider receive your IP address and basic technical details about your request. We use these to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems.
When you contact us
If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
Cookies and local storage
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. The website remembers your volume setting in your browser’s local storage; it stays on your device and isn’t sent to us. Our network provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from abuse. Because these are essential, they don’t need your consent.
Why we use your data
- Legitimate interests: running the stream and website, keeping them secure, and counting our audience.
- Legal obligation: music licensing reports.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data. We only share it with:
- Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the website and stream
- our server hosting provider
- Spotify, whose servers deliver some album artwork straight to your browser and so see your IP address
- music licensing bodies, which receive usage figures for royalty reporting
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, we rely on safeguards approved under UK law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
How long we keep it
- Listener and server logs: up to 12 months, or longer if licensing reports require it
- Emails to us: up to 2 years after our last contact
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
Changes
We’ll update this page if anything changes and show the new date at the top. See also our Terms of Use.
